April 1 at noon: Dr. Scott Shalaway: 28 Years of Questions, 45 Minutes of Answers

Naturalist Dr. Scott Shalaway returns to review of some of the most interesting and “weirdest” questions he’s gotten over the years. He will also ouch briefly on bird-friendly coffees at Lunch With Books.






And at 7 PM, the People's University Astronomy will continue with Class 5, Billions of Galaxies, Clusters and collisions of aging galaxies in the expanding universe.

Mary Todd Lincoln will visit Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library in Wheeling on Tuesday, March 11 at noon. Mrs. Lincoln's story mirrors the pain and loss suffered by many Americans as a result of the Civil War. She endured the death of three of her sons, saw her husband murdered, and was later committed to an insane asylum by her surviving son. She is portrayed by JoAnn Peterson through the WV Humanities Council’sHistory Alive program. Lunch With Books programs are free and open to the public. Book Discussion Groups

The Ohio County Public Library facilitates book discussion groups for both young adults and adults. Currently, the OCPL offers two adult groups, which meet on the first Monday and third Thursday of each month.

In addition to its own growing collection, the OCPL has access to the book discussion collection of the West Virginia Library Commission.
