Bellaire Program Rescheduled!

NOTE: This event was originally scheduled for December 29th, but was cancelled due to weather conditions. It has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 2.

On Tuesday, February 2nd at noon, authors Holly Bruno and Miami University of Ohio professor Andrew Ehritz will be at the Ohio County Public Library’s Lunch With Books program to discuss Bellaire, the new entry in the popular Images of America series by Arcadia Publishing. Bellaire grew to prominence in the early 19th century when rich deposits of coal and sand were discovered. Glass factories earned Bellaire the nickname “Glass City.” Industry grew rapidly, and the railroads brought tradesmen and immigrants. Bellaire has also been home to an enamel works, a steel factory, lumberyards, brick makers, and bottling companies. Lunch With Books programs are free and open to the public. Patrons are invited to bring a bag lunch and free beverages are provided. Please call the library at 304-232-0244 for more information.

Book Discussion Groups

The Ohio County Public Library facilitates book discussion groups for both young adults and adults. Currently, the OCPL offers two adult groups, which meet on the first Monday and third Thursday of each month.

In addition to its own growing collection, the OCPL has access to the book discussion collection of the West Virginia Library Commission.
