Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library in Wheeling on Tuesday, June
4 at noon to discuss his new autobiography, I Will Go to the Altar of God:
What It Took to Become a Priest in Communist Poland. During WWII, Fr. Mazgaj took part in the
combat against German forces with the Polish Home Army. Lunch With Books

PEOPLE'S UNIVERSITY American History 2, The Civil War & Statehood: Tuesday, June 4 at 7 PM--"The Civil War, Pt. 2, 1863-1865," will be taught by the noted Civil War expert Kristopher White of Pittsburgh. White is a former staff military historian at Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park. He is the co-author of Chancellorsville's Forgotten Second Front: The Second Battle of Fredericksburg, Salem Church, A Season of Slaughter: the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House and Simply Murder: The Battle of Fredericksburg, December 13, 1862. White's class will cover events from 1863-1865, including the key military strategies and tactics that developed during the last half of the war; the military drafts, the wartime monetary inflation; civilian responses to the war; and turning points during 1863, 1864 and 1865.
