March 16: IRISH BALLADS

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the return of Pittsburgh balladeer Mike Gallagher to the Lunch With Books program at the Ohio County Public Library in Wheeling. Mike, who will be at the library on Tuesday March 16 at noon, has been performing for more than 30 years. Aside from being a mainstay at many Pittsburgh pubs, he has also performed at the 3 Rivers Arts Festival, the Pittsburgh Irish Festival, the Wheeling Celtic Celebration, & on the Echoes of Erin radio show. Master of the Irish ballad, Mike has established himself as an entertainer who brings humor and spirit to every performance. Lunch With Books programs are free and open to the public. Patrons are invited to bring a bag lunch and free beverages are provided. Please call the library at 304-232-0244 for more information.

Book Discussion Groups

The Ohio County Public Library facilitates book discussion groups for both young adults and adults. Currently, the OCPL offers two adult groups, which meet on the first Monday and third Thursday of each month.

In addition to its own growing collection, the OCPL has access to the book discussion collection of the West Virginia Library Commission.

Meeting of the Minds Philosophy Group
