April 3: Novelist Michael Griffith
Michael Griffith, the author of Trophy, an existential tour-de-force will be at Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library in Wheeling on Tuesday, April 3 at noon. Griffith, whose appearance is sponsored by West Liberty University’s distinguished Hughes Lecture Series, is the former editor of “The Southern Review” and the current editor for LSU Press's "Yellow Shoe Fiction" imprint. March 27: Women & the News
Celebrate Women's History Month at Lunch With Books!
Linda Comins and Gladys Van Horne will be at Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library in Wheeling on Tuesday, March 27 at noon to talk about the newspaper then and now —specifically how the "women's" section has evolved from "Society" to "Family" to "Arts and Living" to its current incarnation as "Life.” A part of the library’s observance of Women’s History Month, the program will include changing trends in coverage of "women's news" and how the newspaper's changes have reflected and anticipated societal changes. The Ohio County Public Library facilitates book discussion groups for both young adults and adults. Currently, the OCPL offers two adult groups, which meet on the first Monday and third Thursday of each month.
