Next Tuesday, January 5th--Charles Darwin's On The Origin of Species--The Story Behind The Revolutionary Book That Shook The World

Jim Butler, a naturalist-professor, will be at Lunch With Books at the Ohio County Public Library on Tuesday, January 5 at noon to recount the amazing story, in a fully illustrated presentation, of what led to the publication of Charles Darwin's landmark 150 year-old book, On the Origin of Species. Butler will show why the book so deeply challenged prevailing views by suggesting that life on earth is not static, as most believed, but forever changing. An emeritus professor in the department of renewable resources at the University of Alberta, where he taught conservation biology among other subjects, Dr. Butler began his career working at Oglebay Park. In addition to co-hosting a wildlife television show and authoring several books, he is a poet, author, internationally known naturalist and environmentalist. Lunch With Books programs are free and open to the public. Patrons are invited to bring a bag lunch and free beverages are provided. Please call 304-232-0244 for more information.
